Rico Penzkofer undergoes successful surgery

Rico Penzkofer has had a successful surgery last week. The rider from Böhlen had removed the metal out of his back which was placed for fixation after his bad crash at the Halle-Saale-Schleife. The surgery went well and at the end of last week Penzkofer was released from hospital.

Perfect Qualifying for Penz13.com in Macau

Rico Penzkofer powered his Pirelli wheeled Penz13.com BMW S1000RR to the 9th spot during the qualification of the 45th Motorcycle Grand Prix in Macau. The rider from Böhlen secured a best effort which was 5,008 seconds faster than his personal best time in the free practice on Thursday morning. Penzkofer is going to start tomorrow's race out of the third row in the grid. It has to be mentioned, that his best effort was only two seconds slower than the one of John McGuinness, who secured second place. Pole Position went with a time of 2:23,794 min to Macau-expert Michael Rutter who was 3,157 seconds faster than anyone else in the field. Penz13.com's Horst Saiger from Austria secured 14th on the grid.

Penzkofer & Saiger pull out from Macau Race

Penz13.com Racing Team disregarded unified from the 45th Motorcycle Grand Prix in Macau today. Rico Penzkofer went into the pits by the end of the Warmup-lap whilst team mate Host Saiger retired at the end of lap one. Both BMW S1000RR riders held conditions for to dangerous.

In Macau wird am heutigen Freitag kein Training der Motorräder statt finden. Aufgrund von Regen wurde am Donnerstagnachmittag das erste Qualifying abgesagt und die morgendliche Session vom Freitag sollte verlängert werden. Doch auch da war die Strecke noch nass und unbefahrbar. Vorläufig sollte es am Nachmittag um 16:45 Uhr weitergehen, doch da es bei den Trainings der Automobil-Klassen zu vielen Unfällen kam, konnte auch diese Session nicht statt finden. Neu soll nun am Samstagvormittag die Qualifikation statt finden.
